Close Up – Exhibition design
November 6th, 2009 in Uncategorized
Studiohead designed and produced this years contribution to the London Design Festival from the Helen Hamlyn Centre Royal College of Art.
The exhibition included the results of this years Helen Hamlyn Centre inclusive design research projects, and a retrospective show of past projects and design firms to have launched from work at the Centre.
Studiohead came up with a range of silhouettes to present each of the individual projects. The shape of each silhouettes provides a context for each exhibit, giving the visitor an immediate introduction to the work.
The silhouettes also provided a mechanism to give equal presence and weight to all the projects, whatever their size or medium, within the exhibition space.
The exhibition received a lot of praise for an original and cost effective design.
Margaret Durkan of the RCA said: “I can’t thank you enough for the professional, calm, confident and organised way you handled the whole exhibition, from design to take down. It is hard to believe how smoothly it went this year – thanks to you both. All your efforts were much appreciated. You are certainly a skilled and talented duo and I hope Studiohead goes from strength to strength.”
